The following matches were the highest rated on the Cagematch site.

The final WCW version of Diamond Dallas Page is often forgotten since most fans stopped watching by the end of 2000. Page and Kevin Nash formed The Insiders tag team playing on Nash’s former tag team name of The Outsiders with Scott Hall.

The Insiders were two of the few top faces still over with the crowd and feuded with the Natural Born Thrillers tag team. Starrcade 2000 featured Page and Nash winning the WCW Tag Team Championship from Shawn Stasiak and Chuck Palumbo. The match received a 6.72 rating on Cagematch, which is actually more impressive for the end of the road of WCW.

WCW placed the trio of Diamond Dallas Page, Chris Benoit and Raven into a rivalry throughout 1998. All three wrestlers had matches involving each other. SuperBrawl 1998 featured the PPV singles match between Benoit and Page.

Both men were considered to be among the hardest workers in the ring at the time for WCW. The strong match received a 6.92 rating on Cagematch as Page retained the United States Championship over Benoit in impressive fashion.

The rivalry between Randy Savage and Diamond Dallas Page helped Page to become a bigger star in WCW. Savage saw something special in DDP and wanted to do his best to ensure he’d continue to rise up the rankings of WCW.

Halloween Havoc 1997 saw the final match in their PPV bouts come with a Sudden Death stipulation. Savage defeated Page in a strong bout that received a 6.94 rating on Cagematch. The outside interference from Hulk Hogan dressed as a fake Sting likely lowered the rating for a cheap finish.

Only one WWE match from Diamond Dallas Page made the list of his better rated in-ring bouts. Page barely got a fair chance in the booking, but he did start off with a bigger role. Few noteworthy stars from WCW joined WWE for the Invasion storyline, so DDP had greater importance.

The first Invasion PPV in 2001 saw Page teaming with Booker T, Rhyno and the Dudley Boyz against Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker and Kane. Austin turning heel ended the match in shocking fashion, but it provided enough overall entertainment to get a 6.95 rating on Cagematch.

Spring Stampede 1998 saw the best singles match between Diamond Dallas Page and Raven after months of feuding. The Raven’s Rules stipulation of a No DQ saw them getting a 7.20 Cagematch review rating for the hardcore action.

Page and Raven did a great job battling it out in an all-out war within the confines of a wrestling match. Raven scoring the victory won him the United States Championship as arguably the best peak of his run. It was another strong outing for DDP in one of the best years of his career.

An argument can be made that Cagematch underrated Diamond Dallas Page’s first WCW Championship shot on PPV against Goldberg. WCW marketed the undefeated streak and title reign of Goldberg against the fan support of Page at Halloween Havoc 1998.

The match was viewed as a WCW classic at the time and a rare good match involving the world title. Fans bought into DDP winning before Goldberg finally defeated him. The match received a 7.21 rating from Cagematch with both high and low ratings from varying readers.

WCW used the Falls Count Anywhere stipulation to set up a huge match between Randy Savage and Diamond Dallas Page at the Great American Bash 1997 event. The main event slot saw them delivering with one of the better WCW main events of that era.

Scott Hall coming out to hit the Razor’s Edge/Outsiders’ Edge and Savage following it with his elbow drop left Page unable to kick out. The Cagematch reviews saw them getting a 7.30 rating for a great match with a polarizing finish.

Diamond Dallas Page used his established main event run to help a couple of friends in the mid-card picture. Bam Bam Bigelow and Chris Kanyon joined Page to form the Jersey Triad as a fun heel act in the upper mid-card and tag title picture.

Their best match as a team came in a 3 vs 2 handicap match against Chris Benoit and Perry Saturn at Bash at the Beach 1999. An impressive work rate match landed them a 7.33 Cagematch rating as one of the better WCW tag matches. The Jersey Triad retained the WCW Tag Team Championship at the peak of their tag run together.

The three singles feuds between Diamond Dallas Page, Chris Benoit and Raven played out with a tremendous triple threat match at Uncensored 1998. WCW letting them have a hardcore match with brawling all over the venue provided tremendous results.

The instant classic saw Page winning by hitting a Diamond Cutter on Raven through a table to a huge pop. Cagematch readers rated the triple threat an impressive 8.04 as an outstanding match for the time. This was one of the best instances of a WCW match lasting the test of time after over two decades.

The best match from Diamond Dallas Page actually came on Nitro rather than a PPV. Page winning the WCW Championship for the first time in 1999 saw WCW pulling a generally foolish move of turning him heel. The title reign ended in a tremendous match against Sting on the free show.

Cagematch rated the match an outstanding 8.33 as the best of DDP’s career. WCW changed the title back later that night with Page beating Sting, but the first match was clearly better. The only shame is that WCW didn’t benefit from having this main event a PPV.
