Maybe you are one of those people who are excited about tools in the hardware store, such as saw blades with diamond tips.

Keep this idea, because we will take it in a completely different direction...and talk about ant bites.

How could such a small creature cause such pain with those small pliers? Robert Schofield, a physicist at the University of Oregon, gave an answer: metals.

Schofield and his team used instruments to examine the molecular composition of the bite and cutting parts of small insects, and found that there was enough metal to keep these parts sharp and rigid, while requiring lower animal muscle strength, similar to diamond saw blades.
