We all have a musician, and we are willing to fight for it to defend, and the Brann Dailor of Mastodon is Lars Ulrich. Not only is he willing to fight for the Metallica drummer, but he did fight once in middle school.

"Of course, then and now, Lars was one of my partners. I like Lars and I like his performance," said Dailor in the 2017 Dean Delray episode of Let There Be Talk podcast.

"I don't know why [he got bad rap]. It really bothers me. If someone is talking nonsense - I supported him in middle school, now I will support him," he continued. "I almost had a fight in middle school because we went to see Metallica and Queensryche was opening. Their drummer was Scott Rockenfield on the Justice Tour."

The day after the concert, Dailor heard another kid in his school say that Ulrich sucks and Rockenfield is a better drummer.

"I thought,'Fuck you!' We got into trouble and quarreled a little bit. I told Russ that he was proud of me," he said with a smile.
